Overused, horrible story.
Tries to make you take it seriously.
Some of the most horrible acting you've ever heard.
the worst cony lines ever.
badly-designed straightaway levels that play EXACTLY the same every single time.
Short bursts of speed every few seconds cut by unavoidable fights with brainless enemies that make the whole thing stop.
Terrible "Next Level" and such design for continuing or trying to do anything, much.
Overall, it may be even worse than Sonic Next-Gen.
And let's not forget the fact that the Final Boss was completely unnecessary and illogically thought-out. Plus, there's no background. No scenery at all. At least Sonic Next-Gen had a deep, dark void. But this one just has single-shaded blackness that you could replicate by taking Paint's bucket tool and clicking on the screen.
I know, right? Never get that game. And if you still have any doubt, just check a gameplay. You're get sick and tired of it fast as opposed to any other gameplays you've ever seen. (Assuming you get bored from watching gameplays)
Oh, yeah, I forgot to say that it's got "Corny lines at it's finest!" I mean, at least Sonic Next-Gen didn't really have any corny lines. And we all know how bad THAT video "game" was!
Do not buy this game. If you are at least curious of what kind of experience you will have when playing it, just rent it.
Oh, I assume you remember this trailer? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-LxCcb9e2g
Well, they once decided to make this horrible edit with these random kids popping up in the corners over and over again pretending to have fun playing it. I could tell this because...
1. No one ever smiles like that, even when playing Brawl. It was all very creepy.
2. They wheren't even moving the remotes with what was going on.
And it really isn't that abnormal for someone to have a weapon in these games.
> Sonic Adventure. (Gamma's Gun and Tails' Tornado and Tornado 2 which both have dual MACHINE GUNS!)
> Sonic Adventure 2. (Tails' Tornado and Eggman's Eggwalker have a bunch of weapon Systems.)
> Sonic Heroes. (Omega has Dual Rotating Machine Guns, a Flamethrower, Missile Launchers and what I call "The Omega Beam". Not to mention that Tails and Rouge throw Dummy Ring Bombs, Espio throws Shirikuns and Big has various weapon upgrades attached to his fishing pole.)
> Shadow the Hedgehog. (Do I need to comment on this one at all? Awesome game, though.)
Sonic Battle. (Tails has a blaster, Amy throws Present Bombs, Rouge "kisses" Bat Bombs, I think Cream might have Omochao Grenades or something and Gamma has loads of weapon Systems. Oh, and Emerl, too!)
Sonic Riders. (Several characters such as Tails, Wave, Eggman, Jet and some others use some various types of weapons for their attacks.)
Sonic Next-Gen. (Tails has Dummy Ring Bombs again plus some new adaptations, Shadow has dual machine guns AND missile launchers included on his vehicles and Omega has more weapon systems.)
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. (Same as Sonic Riders.)
Sonic World Adventure/Sonic Unleashed (Tails has the Tornado for no reason at all when he's got the Tornado 2 and the first one was destroyed, so, why build it again? Anyway, it also has weapon systems attached to it.)
And Amy has her hammer in, like, every game. So, weapons aren't all that unusual. Not even for Shadow the Hedgehog.
I just don't get why people where so shocked by the concept of all these new weapons in that game. I mean, you don't HAVE to use them, if you don't want to. It's actually possible to get through the ENTIRE game without picking up a single gun. And it's SHADOW for crying out loud! Things tend to be different when the spotlight is on someone else. I absolutely loved that game. It took 'till right about after that for Sonic Team to start making gameplay extremely bad.
@Lugzburg PS I win
I have now played black knight, it rocks. and I was right about the arthur distortions, Sonic's sword is Excalibur and Arthur is the Black Knight. But even more than that Merlin is a GIRL?!?!? WHat's up with that?!? And worst of all the have Nimue and the Lady of the Lake be the same person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! Wrong Wrong Wrong! NO! NO! NO! NO!
No, you are wrong. Sonic's sword is called "Caliburn". You even said that, yourself. I went through the game, as well. It's Caliburn. He doesn't get Excalibur until the end of the game, and for no reason, either.
And you show yourself to NOT pay attention. The girl's name is "Merlina". She even said that Merlin was her grandfather.
And of course they got things wrong. They're SONIC "TEAM"! They've been stinking for a few years, now!
Yeah I learned the bit about merlina AFTER I posted the comment, hey cut me some slack, I've only played til about beating knuckles. And Caliburn is the same as Excalibur, Caliburn was just the older name which got turned into Excalibur through a translation error between french and english.
Yeah, and it totally didn't HAVE to be a boss.
"Look, before we settle this..."
Excuse me... WHAT!? What ever happened to trying to solve these things peacefully? That could be done so easily! LAZY HEDGEHOG! Just because he's got a new sword, it doesn't mean he should use it to solve EVERYTHING!
I really hated that. The Final Boss that never should have been...
Sorry about that Lug. I finally beat King Arthur, and then saw that Merlina DID go crazy due to her grandfather's mistake of helping King Arthur become king, and then she is trying to Revive the Knights of the underworld. you guys were right. *teleports Excalibur back to Sonic the Hedgehog during the game*
It WASN'T a waste of time.
Merlina brought Dark King Arthur to rid the world of people in her way. But Dark King Arthur had greater Power, and forced Merlina to call upon Sonic, "The Knight of The Wind"
@Kuzer1000: Yeah, despite how visual I am... At the time, I wasn't really aware of the whole "Genesis vs. Advance" thing.
@greenpowerstar: You think that's bad, you should see my old Paper World comics I made when I was... Actually, I can't remember how far back that was. But I'm certain it had to be in the single-digits.
Out of the 200-or-so that I made all those years ago, I only deemed about six of them as worthy of getting Sonic Future remakes by age 13.
@Blue Kirby: 1. In all seriousness, Sonic and the Black Knight was an extremely linear game with brainless enemies, a bad badly-implemented gimmick, a poorly-designed story and horrible logic at the end in which Sonic decides to beat up some innocent girl without any prompt whatsoever. It is NOT by any means a great game.
2. Because, as of October 10th, 2010, My Little Pony became one of the most manly things on the planet. See for yourself.
@Syogren: All, nostalgia... I suppose. A lot has changed since 2008. Sure, this comic is still receiving updates, so... some things are still the same. I figured out backgrounds and decent visual effects eventually. Don't you worry!
